Here we go My take on

Disclaimer: I have watched the movie with 0 beeps and no interval for the entire 3+ hrs and this is just my opinion on the movie mee manobhavalu emaina untey fold and keep. The length of the review is directly proportional to the run time J

Arjun Reddy the modern day Devdas ..
Vijay devarkonda has got a larger than life character to be played very early in his career and he nailed it. Embrace yourself Tollywood we have a Ma(***)cho(*) man :D

Though the director was confused on how portray and elevate him at times, VD managed to overshadow the directors confusions

THE BEGINNING

An attempt for a paradigm shift with the opening and closing shots of the movie didn’t work out IMO J ,

while this was going on begins the emotional roller coaster with the voice over of the veteran beauty Kanchana gaaru

Anger management the main characteristic which got portrayed in all the teasers wasn’t proportionate.

The ride begins with the football match which is undoubtedly a goose bumps factor for all the youth and teenagers (Targeted audience I would say),

the scenes got elevated to a different level with the electrifying BGM and punch lines .

“I am not a rebel without a cause nor a murderer with a surgical blade” , “Show some respect to the champion”  …….

Before AR’s journey reaches Preethi we have another hero(friend) in the movie who shares the equal responsibility of the movie along with VD on his shoulders (SIVA) being established slowly

Then happens the usual college stuff and scenes to soothe the ego of targeted audiences J

The  MC Episode …. Usage of MC here in this scene is debatable, the scene would have the same effect even without using MC . Followed by few more scenes knit around the AR Preethi and the noticeable punchlines of Siva which continue to sooth the targeted audience comes the major part of the movie

THE BREAKUP

As we already had a pre-established anger management issues of AR

We now have the catalyst for his break up , the obvious Opaque character of any love story, “GIRLS Father” and the obvious reason “Caste :D” which AR doesn’t get to cope with and gives a deadline to the preethi.

The irony of deadlines is they are never met :D, and thanks to ARs anger management, first dose of morphine while nothing happened occurs, a lot could have happened if given a time though .

The reason for the break up doesn’t seem to be convincing as it could have been avoidable.

Now that we have the could have been avoidable and un avoidable break up, here begins the post break up obvious effects, Booze .. we already have smoking but that gets to a next level with coke dope and frock ..

The main ingredient / feel that should be a part of any breakup is PAIN which none of these doped scenes were successful in portraying .

As his friend would say AR rather looked like a Paagal Saaley rather than Painful Devdas .

We get to see some stereo type dialogs which are common in break up episodes.  

The only medium used to project pain was the “Theliseney naa nuvvey naa nuvvu kaadani” song which is already a chart buster

Here we get to see the confused agitated irritated and agitated AR and his friend who tries to keep an eye on him round the clock. Few comic scenes, sentimental scenes  and heavy conversations which elevated the falling pace of the movie.

THE REHABILITATION

It’s 2017 and mindsets of people are more matured so the entire pathos saga has to end and there should be a convincing reason so what do we do? Pump up the emotion so we use the Senior citizen card J

Got some very beautiful lines from Kanchana garu again “Suffering is personal .. Let him suffer” “Nenu vaadini alaa chudalenu” .. uttering these words marks the end of her story .

The very before words of Kanchana garu explains the two types of losses which is very justifying and her character ends up explaining AR the first kind of loss . Yet another Emotional Father-son scene best of its kind and begins the rehabilitation .

THE CONCLUSION

Coming to the conclusion I would rather call it the directors perception, this situation practically very less probability to happen and for the first time the Director breaks the stereo type, the Stereo type of the Devdas movies J and gives a positive ending.

All other possible climaxes imagined wouldn’t have fit the story though .

On a lighter note thanks that we don’t have a pathetic ending where in AR would end up on roads beating on his head and muttering MC BC nannanannnaaann nanaanna words and Preethi sees him in traffic jam and story ends in a hospital

The movie would have pulled up enough rushes even without the controversial speeches and the #chilltaatayya events .

All the other hype and hoopla of getting a ban on the movie etc is purely un necessary

And here comes the final part of the review without which ARJUN Reddy would not be considered as completed

For all the negative reviews and people who are trying to make the objectifying women card just to get attention
